[About linen fabric] Linen fabric is highly breathable, dries quickly, and has natural antibacterial properties. The white linen is sourced from Southeast Asia, but is spun into yarn in Japan, where it is made into a 40-count fabric with a dense 52 threads vertically and 46 threads horizontally. The greige linen is sourced from Belarus and processed into fabric in Belarus.
[Organic Cotton Sewing Thread] We use Swiss-made organic cotton thread for the sewing thread. This is because, when making the filter, we wanted to pursue safety, just like with the food we put directly into our mouths. While regular sewing thread is made of synthetic fibers, mainly polyester, organic cotton is a natural fiber, so we think it works well with coffee drip.
[Care Instructions] After brewing, we recommend rinsing the filter with water to remove any coffee grounds. If you wash it with detergent, the detergent's odor and ingredients will soak into the fabric, transferring the flavor and smell to the drip coffee. If you want to clean it thoroughly, boil the filter after removing the coffee grounds. Boiling also has a sterilizing effect, so it will also remove the fat from the coffee and eliminate any odors or impurities.
[Storing the filter] The filter dries quickly and can be washed and reused. However, once used, store it in a ziplock bag or similar container in the freezer. Before using it again, thaw it under running water.
[Enjoy a change in taste by stacking two filters] While varying the size of the beans is a good way to enjoy the flavor of your coffee, stacking two of these filters will remove impurities and change the taste. The difference may be small, but we recommend giving it a try.
