"Sonnenblume" is the German word for sunflower. The name was chosen because the design evokes Eastern European images. Rather than simply depicting the design, the petals, stamens, leaf veins, and stem curves have been simplified yet retained in a complex pattern. The direction of the flowers, the volume of the leaves, the way the stems are displayed, and the way depth is added make this a highly designed tenugui. This is a new sunflower design with an image never before seen on a tenugui. It can also be used as interior décor or textiles.
This is a Tokuoka fabric made in Japan using high-quality Chita cotton.
Like traditional tenugui towels, both ends are left uncut.
It can be enjoyed as interior décor by hanging it on a hanging rod or in a frame. It is also suitable as a kendo mask towel, as it is 100cm long.
